I finished reading Go Ask Alice. It had a really tragic ending. I think the symbol in this book was her diary. In it she wrote all her happiness and suffering. In a way I think her diary kept her alive. Once she stopped keeping one she died. I think her diary represented hope. It was her hope to someday stop using drugs. She really tried to. All the things that had happened to her which she had written down motivated her to get over her addiction. But when she decided to not keep a diary anymore , I guess she gave up fighting too.

I'm reading this book right now too! (Although, I kind of lost it but I'll find it somehow!)
It sounds pretty good in the beginning and it is sort of inspiring huh?
BTW: Why is no one commenting on your blog?? It's really good and you have nice blog entries!

Your blog is very pretty!! The book sounds really good!!!!! It seems sooo sad... Is is really interesting>??? i don't think the book The secret life of bees is very interesting because it's kind of confusing to me.
I know what you mean, it was so tragic. It was really surprising too because I thought the author was actually going to try and do better but then I find out that she died and i was just sad because i thought they had a chance at not doing that stuff anymore.
well the story for my book goes like this:
one evil guy forges a ring
and pours all his evil into it
and later the evil guy dies.
then thousands of years later,
someone else finds the evil ring
and the evil-ness spreads to him
and he becomes obessive over the ring,
cause it has power.
aaaawwww....miriam thats terrible. Hope was the only thing that kept her alive, and that she decided to stop her diary ment she wanted to stop hoping. In my oppion, i think it was her decition die, or to be like that. She wanted to end it all. But you sould never lose hope, remember that, because hope might prevale*wink*

Wow... I totally believe that a diary is the symbol for the "Go Ask Alice" book. The book is sad, I have to agree with you.
